So within the past few weeks, the girls and boys of Los Alamitos Show Choir have introduced us to the weird, wonderful world of show choir. We had no idea what to expect, but were left speechless. This particular choir won every single competition this year - with Solitary Home as the centerpiece of their performance. The sheer surrealism of this song choice made us go over the pond to see a few of their shows, and we also managed to record the kids at peak performance. Without going into too much detail, we'll just say that very exciting things are going to happen because of this. Here's Jon and the kids backstage before LosAl's last show in San Diego, re-experiencing the moment and the energy of the song that came to life in a dream all those years ago. We extend a huge thank you to the incredible choir and their team: David Moellenkamp, Moana Dherlin, Cara Jennings, Eddy Clement, April James, and last but not least mr. Josh Greene

Hi everyone!

We promise not to make a habit of shamelessly promoting our bandcamp, but we’ve added the Blackbox T-shirt plus a few other items. We also have a new arrangement with shipping which will make the waiting time much shorter for you from now on.

«Only the stuff you know you're gonna need. Money, keys, comb, wallet, lighter, hanky, pen, smokes, rubber and change. Well, only the stuff you HOPE you're gonna need.»

Check out if you feel like it:

Today we salute our excellent guitarist Øystein on completing 30 earth cycles around the sun. May your day be filled with puns, creampuffs, bourbon and loud music. Photo: Jarle Hovda Moe

New single: Madeleine Crumbles

Today we bring you the most exalted of news: The first single from our fourth studio album has finally been released. Madeleine Crumbles is a five minute exploration of symphonic pop melancholia, touching some musical realms we haven’t really ventured into before. That’s where we’re always most comfortable – somewhere we’ve haven’t been before. You can find the song on Spotify or any kind of service you may find preferrable. The song features Linn Frøkedal (The Megaphonic Thrift) on guest vocals, plus a host of other guest musicians, and has been mixed by Yngve Sætre. Lyrics here.

Lyrics, lyrics, lyrics!

Some of you may have noticed that this website has gotten a bit of a new look lately.

It is very much a work in progress, and the makeover is nowhere near complete. But do note that we’ve finally gotten around to publishing all the official Major Parkinson lyrics.

A lot of you have been asking us about releasing these things, and while we’ve been amused by all the wrong lyrics that have been put out on the internet over the years, we kind of figured we had to set the record straight. We know it’s kind of hard to decipher what we’re saying at times.

So, go on, enjoy yourself, now there’s no excuse for singing the wrong lyrics.
